A long tradition of quality, service and efficiency
Zemach Feedmill, Ltd., founded in 1960, is a cooperative association owned by 47 cooperative farmsteads from the Jordan Valley, the Beit She'an Valley and the Golan Heights. Zemach Feedmill manufactures a variety of feeds, with 57% intended for poultry – broilers, turkey and egg-laying poultry – 25% intended for cattle, sheep and goats – and 18% intended for the fish sector. Additionally, the company manufactures small amounts of pet food. The past twenty years have seen a general increase in productions: from 65 thousand tons to 240 thousand tons in 2008.
Zemach Feedmill is in daily contact with growers via its technical support staff, offering a unique feeding plan adapted to conditions in the field, for season, and based on the quality of the feed and the for the grower.
Through trials held in testing stations and in the field, Zemach Feedmill is constantly renewing the composition and the shape of its feed. A sophisticated lab performs meticulous analyses, starting with the raw material coming into the factory and up to the final feed – upon dispatch to the grower.
Zemach Feedmill is the largest producer of fish feed in Israel. It manufactures feed for the various kinds of farmed fish (Tilapia, Carp, predators, etc.), intensive fisheries (including ornamental fish) and marine fish. Several years ago, Zemach Feedmill installed an extrusion system for the manufacturing of floating and sinking feed. Extruded feed significantly improves the efficiency of the fish sector allowing growers to increase production. It also allows Zemach Feedmill to develop additional markets in the Mediterranean and in Eastern Europe.
Zemach Feedmill runs feeding experiment stations in Ginosar and in Dor, and performs field observations in order to improve the aquaculture sector in Israel.
Zemach Feedmill has a unique system for gathering data from growers (turkey and broilers). Together with the testing poultry house, it is possible to implement efficient nutritional solutions in the field. In 2007, Zemach Feedmill broiler farms achieved the best performances and the highest profitability in Israel.
In the ruminant sector, Zemach Feedmill is set to provide solutions for all growers: this includes complete mixed rations distributed to the trough, shelf feeds, processed and unprocessed raw materials, direct-supply raw materials, and tailor-made feeds especially adapted for each particular client.
Additionally, Zemach Feedmill provides its customers with technical support services regarding feeding, as well as lab services for feed analysis. Quality control over all of the feeds (both for the rations as well as for the feeds and the raw materials), is extremely meticulous, ensuring the supply of fresh and healthy feed to the livestock.
