Thermosiphon SystemsChromagen’s Thermosiphon solar heating system delivers high efficiency and low-maintenance. The system provides hot water after only a few hours of sunlight. This is the eco-friendly answer to a family’s hot water needs. This streamlined system uses natural water circulation and doesn’t require a pump or control unit. It includes a solar collector and a storage tank. All Chromagen systems are supplied complete with connection fittings.Solar CollectorHighly efficient, coated absorber plate, painted galvanized steel or aluminum case, tempered solar glass and polyurethane insulation. Net area: 1.5 – 3.5 sq.m. Solar Storage Tank Solar storage tanks range from 80-300 liters, which have internal steel casing over enamel coating. The external shells are polyester-coated, galvanized steel or aluminum. Also included are the polyurethane insulation and electric backup. They are best suited for warm regions, because they operate with potable water only. Hot water from the collector mixes with the supply water in the storage tank, so a single freeze could destroy the system. Open-loop systems are not recommended in extreme hard-water areas, since scale buildup in the collectors is likely to hinder their operation.Closed-loop systems prevent freezing and scale buildup. Heated anti-freeze solution from the collector flows into the tank’s heat-exchanger and then returns to the collector. An electric backup makes up the energy deficiency during periods of cloudy weather.Connecting Kit All Chromagen systems are supplied with a connecting kit that includes all the required accessories for installation.Steel StandChromagen supplies a variety of stands and racks for flat or inclined roof installations. Chromagen stands are made of galvanized painted steel to ensure high durability in harsh conditions

 Forced Circulation SystemsForced circulation systems use electrical pumps, valves, and controllers to circulate water or other heat-transfer fluids through the collectors. This enables a high degree of flexibility in the positioning of the system components. For example, the tank can be installed in a basement. In addition, the system can operate with a series of collectors to supply heated water to several large tanks, making it suitable for hotels, swimming pools and other commercial applications. Closed-Loop System   In a closed-loop system, heat transfer fluid circulates through the system tubes and doesn’t mix with the potable water inside the water storage tank. Closed-loop systems are better-suited for colder climates, since the anti-freeze solution keeps the system from freezing. The system’s life span is lengthened by preventing scale buildup inside the collector tubes.Closed-loop systems can be operated in either Forced Circulation or Thermosiphon systems. Central Installations Chromagen’s central installations for home and commercial use, provide heated water in very large quantities by using an array of collectors. The number and size vary according to the water heating requirements. These installations are the perfect solution for apartment buildings, hotels, hospitals and industrial plants. They are generally backed up by conventional energy sources. Central installations can be operated with large storage tanks of over 1000 liters or with small individual storage tanks for each consumption unit.Chromagen has vast experience in the design and implementation of large solar installations.
